Gunshots heard in the Paisley/Oxford area overnight
At approximately 2am today, police responded to the sound of, what is believed to be, gunshots heard in the area of Paisley Road and Oxford Street. Due to the heavy fog that had developed overnight, visibility was greatly reduced but police received a description of a silver vehicle with black winter rims that may be involved in this incident. It is believed that there were a number of occupants inside this vehicle that left the area at a high rate of speed. At this time there is no other information about this incident.

Arrest in south end break-ins
On January 5, 2017 Guelph police responded to break and enters to homes in the south end of the city. As a result of those investigations, the complainants provided lists of property that had been stolen during the break and enters.
Approximately 3 weeks after the break and enters, one complainant learned that cheques stolen from their home had been deposited. Investigation revealed that a 27 year old Hamilton woman had been in possession of 2 stolen cheques and convinced another person to deposit the cheques.
Joeline Frost Briand has been charged with possession of stolen property, uttering a forged document and fraud under $5000.00. She is to appear in Guelph court on April 4, 2017.
Break and Enter
At approximately 2am on February 21st, an unknown male gained entry to a Glasgow Street business by smashing a window out. Once inside, the male took a large quantity of money and left through the same window he had entered.

Vehicle hits construction sign
On Tuesday evening at approximately 9:35pm, a 20 year-old Oakville man was driving his black Mazda on Gordon Street when he attempted to turn into a parking lot. The vehicle went up over the curb and struck a construction sign which caused a front tire to go flat. He continued to drive through the parking lot.
When police arrived to investigate the collision, the vehicle and driver was located at the other end of the parking lot and small bag of marihuana was seen inside of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was not impaired by drugs, but was charged with possession of a controlled substance and failing to remain. He was released to appear in a Guelph court in April.
