On January 19, 2017 Guelph Police officers on patrol observed a male holding a popcorn maker box. Police stopped to wish the male a “Happy National Popcorn Day”. The male immediately ran from police. Police, believing the package was stolen, pursued and were able to catch up with the male. As a result of this incident, a 31 year old Guelph male was arrested and charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Police located drugs, including marijuana, with a street value of $2,700.
High School Resource Officers Make Drug Arrest
On January 18, 2017 High School Resource Officers were on foot patrol in the east end of Guelph. Police approached a male that was acting suspiciously and began speaking to him. As a result of this investigation, an 18 year old Guelph male was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. The male was held for a bail hearing.
Furthermore, the male was found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Winnipeg for robbery with a firearm. The Winnipeg Police Service was contacted and will be dealing with that charge.
Male Sprayed and Stabbed
In the early hours of January 20, 2017 police were called to a disturbance at an apartment on Imperial Road. Upon arrival, police discovered a female had sprayed a male with dog attack repellent and then stabbed him in the leg. The male received non-life threatening injuries.
At 35 year old Guelph woman was charged with assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, administer noxious thing and breaching her order of recognizance. She was held for a bail hearing.
Female Arrested for Assault
In the early morning hours of January 2, 2017 Guelph Police entered into an assault investigation as a result of an incident that occurred in the downtown area. Police learned that one female assaulted another female. The victim in the incident was diagnosed with a concussion as a result of the assault.
On January 19, 2017, Shelby Molloy, a 25 year old Guelph female, was arrested and charged with assault cause bodily harm. She will appear in court on March 3, 2017.
