Guelph Police Daily News Release – 16Mar2017

On March 15, 2017 renovation staff reported to police that at some point over the past few days an unknown suspect(s) gained entry to a Woolwich Street house that was under construction. A door was pried open and a brand new furnace unit and hand tools were taken from inside.

Charged laid after patron refused to pay

Just after 7pm on March 15th, police were called by staff at an Edinburgh Road restaurant after a customer came into the restaurant, ordered some food and beer and then attempted to leave the restaurant without paying. He was confronted by staff and still refused to pay. Police arrived and spoke with the male who ended up being arrested and charged with fraudulently obtaining food.

Grant Stanborough of Guelph was released to appear in court on April 29, 2017.

Traffic Enforcement

On March 15th, directed traffic enforcement was performed throughout the day on Kortright Road, York Road and Eramosa Road that resulted in 40 traffic offence notices being issued for a variety of driving offences.

Calls for service

Over the course of the day on March 15, 2017 the Guelph Police Service responded to 184 calls for service.
