Guelph Police Daily News Release – 15Nov2016

On November 14, 2016 at 6:00 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a stolen motor vehicle. A silver 2010 Dodge Ram 1500, four door Hemi, Ontario plate #444 8HX was stolen sometime overnight from Glenholm Drive.

Break and enter

On November 14, 2016 at 12:28 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Munroe Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the home and stole a coin collection, cash and jewellery.

Break and enter

On November 14, 2016 at 2:06 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Conroy Crescent building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the laundry room and broke into the laundry machines.

On November 14, 2016 at 2:23 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Surrey Street East building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the laundry room and broke into the laundry machines.

B+E investigation – arrest

On November 11, 2016 at 7:26 a.m., the Guelph Police investigated an attempt break and enter at a store on Eastview Road. A man broke the glass on the front door but failed to gain entry. Investigation identified the man and on November 14, 2016 he was arrested.

Tyson Rocco, 19 years of Guelph has been charged with break and enter with intent. He will appear in court on December 23, 2016.

Shoplifter investigation leads to arrest

On October 31, 2016, the Guelph Police investigated the theft of a drill from a Silvercreek Parkway North store. Police were able to identify the man and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On November 14, 2016, he was located and arrested.

Darryl Wimbush, 31 years of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000 and two counts of breach of recognizance.

Police patrol leads to arrest

On November 15, 2016 shortly after 1:00 a.m., the Guelph Police located a male on Silvercreek Parkway north. Investigation determined that he was wanted for failing to appear in court and he was arrested. A subsequent search discovered a small quantity of Crystal Meth.

The 26-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with possession of a controlled substance as well as his fail to re-attend court charge. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 15, 2016.

Theft from cars

On November 14, 2016 the Guelph Police received four reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations Glenholm Drive, Watson Road South, McArthur Street and Wyndham Street South.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
