The Guelph Police investigation of an assault that occurred on September 28, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Baker Street parking lot has resulted in an arrest. It is alleged that the accused male approached the male victim and kicked him in the face without provocation. The victim was transported to Guelph General Hospital for medical attention.
A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with assault cause bodily harm and three counts of breach YCJA probation. He has been held in custody and will appear in court on October 14, 2016.
Male arrested for breaching probation
On October 12, 2016 at 4:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of Eramosa Road and Woolwich Street to investigate the report of a male that was possibly intoxicated and at one point was lying on the road. Police located the man and the investigation discovered that he was breaching conditions of his probation and he was arrested.
Matthew Pleau, 30 years of Guelph has been charged with three counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on December 2, 2016.
Theft from cars
On October 12, 2016 the Guelph Police received six reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Imperial Road North, Couling Crescent, Cork Street West, Flanders Road and two on Creighton Avenue.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
