Guelph Police Daily News Release – 13April2017

On April 12, 2017 at 10:09 a.m. Guelph Police went to the Old Quebec Street Mall to investigate a fire that had been set in a bathroom by two males. The Guelph Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire which caused approximately $2,000 in damage.

The two males were later located by Mall security and arrested.

A 16-year-old Guelph male has been charged with arson.

A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with arson and breach of probation.

They will appear in court on May 24, 2017.

Break and enter

On April 12, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Wilsonview Avenue residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the ground floor apartment through the patio door sometime during the daytime. A theft of electronics is reported.

Break and enter

On April 12, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Zaduk Place residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the unlocked garage sometime on April 11 between 10:30 p.m. and April 12 at 1:00 a.m. A bicycle was stolen and another bicycle left behind.

Theft from cars

On April 12, 2016 the Guelph Police received four reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Eramosa Road, Michener Road, Pineridge Drive and Stone Road East.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
