On August 9, 2016 at 3:37 a.m., the Guelph Police went to an Imperial Road North apartment building for the report of a robbery. A male met at this location with a female he had been talking to online. A second male also showed up at the apartment and pulled out what the victim believed was a baton and told him to leave. The victim fled the apartment leaving behind $120 cash. When police arrived they located the responsible male in the area and he was arrested. A subsequent search discovered a quantity of hydro Morphine, Methamphetamine and Marihuana. The investigation determined that the female was party to this offence and she too was arrested. A subsequent search for her discovered a quantity of Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms).
Darcy Mcgee, 30 years of Peterborough has been charged with robbery, weapons dangerous and three counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on August 15, 2016.
Noelle Martin, 35 years of Guelph has been charged with robbery, weapons dangerous and possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on August 10, 2016.
Scrap metal theft – two arrested
On August 9, 2016 at 4:57 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a business on Elizabeth Street for the report that two males had taken items from a bin then left on E-bikes. Police quickly located the males on York Road. One of the E-bikes had an attached wagon containing items that included scrap metal. Investigation determined that the scrap metal had been stolen from the bin at the business. Both males were arrested.
Francisco Ferraz, 41 years of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
Dustin Lizotte, 30 years of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
They will both appear in court on September 20, 2016.
Break and enter
On August 9, 2016 at 3:35 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Woolwich Street business to investigate a break and enter. A male entered, stole cash from the register and then left, last seen heading down Mont Street towards Exhibition Street. The male is described as 5’8”, 17-22 years, moustache/scruff with short curly hair. He was wearing a navy baseball hat with a flat rim, jeans, and basketball type shoes.

Break and enter
On August 9, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Simmonds Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. Sometime overnight their vehicle was entered. The culprit(s) then used the garage door opener to enter the garage. A bicycle and bike trailer are reported stolen.

Property damage
On August 10, 2016 at 2:30 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of 170 Victoria Road North for the report of property damage. A man was observed throwing a rock through the rear window of a vehicle then fled the area on a bicycle. The only description was that he was dressed all in black.

Drive over 80 mg – arrest
On August 9, 2016 at 10:26 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Willow Road area after receiving the report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the female driver and car on Willow Road. It was determined that she had alcohol in her system and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. She failed this test and was arrested.
Sanja Kovacevic-Conic, 39 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80 mg. She will appear in court on August 23, 2016.
Theft from cars
On August 9, 2016 the Guelph Police received six reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Waterford Drive, Woodlawn Road West, Dawes Avenue, Simmonds Drive and two on Wilton Road.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
