On November 7, 2016 at 12:55 p.m., the Guelph Police became involved an a theft investigation after a man who suffered a theft from his car overnight in Mississauga had tracked his stolen IPAD to Guelph, locating a male and female with it. Police were called and located the two suspects in a Honda Civic on Paisley Road and both were arrested. Continued investigation discovered that the Civic had been reported stolen from Waterloo on November 6, 2016. A search located multiple identity documents, credit cards and also break in instruments. Victims of the thefts were from Kitchener, Waterloo and Mississauga.
A 31-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of break in instruments, 12 counts of possession of identity information, 12 counts of possession of government documents, possession of credit cards unauthorized, breach of recognizance and 3 counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 8, 2016.
A 39-year-old female of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of break in instruments, 12 counts of possession of identity information, 12 counts of possession of government documents, possession of credit cards unauthorized and 6 counts of breach of probation. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 8, 2016.
Break and enter
On November 7, 2016 at 12:39 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Bathgate Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the home through an unlocked side door sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. A laptop, watch, ring and money is reported stolen.

Break and enter
On November 7, 2016 at 9:04 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Guelph group home on Stone Road to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the basement classroom sometime over the weekend. The theft of an IPAD, laptop and wireless mouse is reported.

Property damage
On November 7, 2016 at 5:32 a.m., the Guelph Police went to 19 Woodlawn Road East for the report of property damage. In total, four cars were reported as damaged sometime overnight. Three had windows smashed and the other had its convertible soft top cut.

Theft from cars
On November 7, 2016 the Guelph Police received eleven reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Grove Street, Audrey Avenue, Imperial Road South, Paisley Road, Clarke Street West, Upton Crescent, Washburn Drive, two on Exhibition Street and two on Hebert Street.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Bicycles stolen
Four more stolen bikes were reported on November 7, 2016 taken from residential and commercial properties in Guelph. One was taken from outside a Wyndham Street North bar and three were taken from the Gordon Street South area.
Bike theft continues to be an ongoing concern. Heavy duty locks for bikes even when indoors gives you the best protection against theft.
