Community tips leads to drug arrest
The Guelph Police Service received several complainants and information from the community regarding the drug activity in the area of Woodlawn Road East and Victoria Road North. Members from the High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) and the Drug Unit commenced an investigation in July 2016.
On August 4 & 5 observations were made by the HEAT and Drug Unit that lead to an arrest. A subsequent search warrant at a Montana Road residence discovered a quantity of Marihuana, Morphine, Cocaine and cash that were seized.
James Juhasz, 51 years of Guelph has been charged with attempt to traffic in a controlled substance, two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, three counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. He will appear in court on August 8, 2016.

Break and enter
On August 5, 2016 at 10:10 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Wellington Street West business for an alarm call. On scene, it was quickly determined that a break and enter occurred. The culprit smashed a window to gain entry. Police searched the area but the suspect was not located. A male had been seen in the area earlier and is described as white, early twenties, short brown hair with a little facial hair and a moustache. He was wearing jeans, a white sleeveless shirt and work boots.

Break and enter
On August 7, 2016 at 8:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Milson Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The resident had been out for about an hour and returned to find their home ransacked. The culprit(s) forced entry via the rear of the house. Police searched the area but no suspects were located.

Downtown assault – arrest
On August 7, 2016 at 1:21 a.m., Guelph Police were flagged down by staff from a downtown establishment reporting an assault. A male inside the bar advised that he was punched in the face several times by another male unknown to him who then left the bar. Police were able to locate the responsible male outside on Macdonell Street and he was arrested. The victim was taken to Guelph Hospital for injuries to his face.
Seyed-Hasan Hoseini, 20 years of Guelph has been charged with assault cause bodily harm. He will appear in court on September 13, 2016.
Donation theft – arrest
On August 7, 2016 at 1:00 a.m., Guelph Police observed a male with a flashlight in the donation area at Value Village on Silvercreek Parkway North. As police approached, the man dropped what he was holding and started to run. The male stopped after being advised that police canine would be sent in pursuit and he was arrested.
Terry Male, 62 years of Kitchener has been charged with theft under $5,000. He was also charged under the Trespass to Property Act with engage in prohibited activity on premises. He will appear in court on September 16, 2016.

August 6 – In the area of Woodlawn Road from 6:00 a.m. – 7:10 a.m. – 6 tickets issued.
August 7 – In the area of Edinburgh Road South from 4:45 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. – 9 tickets issued.
August 7 – In the area of Wellington Street West from 3:50 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. – 2 tickets issued.
