On January 6, 2016 at 3:43 p.m., the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit arrested two males in a motor vehicle on Eramosa Road as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. A search resulted in the seizure of $6,300 worth of Cocaine, a small quantity of Marihuana, $3,705 cash and a digital scale.
Subsequently, a search warrant was sought and granted for a Mountford Drive residence. This resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of Marihuana and Cannabis resin. Also seized were several weapons including prohibited weapons. Specifically there were 13 sets of nunchaku’s, 1 switchblade knife, 1 sword, 1 large two bladed dagger, 1 large hunting knife, 3 throwing knives and 1 pellet gun rifle. There are currently two other individuals outstanding that will be facing several charges related to the search of the residence.
A 30-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of breach of probation. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with three counts of drive while under suspension.
A 33-year-old Scarborough man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of breach of probation, disobey court order and fourteen counts of operation while disqualified. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with two counts of drive while under suspension.
Both men have been held in custody pending a bail hearing on January 7, 2016.
Man breaks window on city bus
On January 6, 2016, the Guelph Police investigated a property damage complaint. It was reported that at approximately 1:20 p.m., a Guelph Transit bus was making a turn from Macdonell Street to Wyndham Street when a male pedestrian struck a window on the bus cracking it. Police searched the area but did not locate him.
The male is described as white, approximately 5’8” and was wearing a blue toque.

Disturbance at Mall leads to arrest
On January 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Stone Road Mall to investigate a disturbance. It is alleged that an intoxicated man approached another man unknown to him in the food court. He threatened to kill the man, then grabbed and twisted his arm. Mall security intervened at which time the man started yelling at them and other employees in the area. Police arrested the man at the scene.
A 27-year-old Guelph man has been charged with assault, utter death threats, cause a disturbance and breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on January 7, 2016.
Impaired driver arrested
On January 6, 2016 at 7:45 p.m., the Guelph Police received a complaint about a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle on Gordon Street and a traffic stop was conducted. The male driver was spoken to and it was determined that he had been drinking alcohol and was arrested.
Omid Shan Jahan, 24 years of Toronto has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He was also charged with four counts of breaching a Provincial probation order. He will appear in court on January 22, 2016.
Assault – arrest
On January 6, 2016 at 2:15 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a business on Dunlop Drive to assist security with an arrest they made. It is alleged that a male struck a female coworker in the face. The female received minor injuries and police continued the arrest of the male.
Madison Agar, 20 years of Guelph has been charged with assault. He will appear in court on February 23, 2016.
