Collision sends four to hospital
On Thursday January 5, 2017 shortly after noon, a red Dodge minivan travelling east on Grange road at Watson Parkway North struck a grey Audi four door automobile. The Audi then struck a blue Ford Escape travelling in the opposite direction. The minivan left the roadway and hit a traffic control pole.
The driver of the Ford and all three people in the Dodge were transported to Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries.
All three vehicles sustained severe damage, estimated at a total of $40,000.
Damage to the traffic control pole is estimated at $10,000.
The driver of the Dodge, a 35 year old woman from Guelph, was charged with Red light- Fail to Stop, according to the Highway Traffic Act section 144(18).
Further investigation revealed that the 39 year old Guelph male driver of the Ford, was driving with a suspended driver’s license and charged for that offence as well.
Police investigated four other collisions during the day and charges were laid in all of them
Break and enter
Just after 1pm on January 5th, the home alarm went off after the front door of a Gosling Gardens home was forced opened. The alarm company then contacted police who arrived and found the front and back doors open and the unknown suspects gone.

Break and enter
A few blocks away from Gossling Gardens, at 3:15pm police were responding to a report of two suspicious males knocking on doors when a Laughland Lane homeowner came home and found her front door forced open. She had only been away from the home for a few minutes. Units along with K9 rushed to area to search for the males but were not able to locate these two possible suspects.
The two suspects were described as being in their 30’s. One was white with a scruffy appearance and brown hair wearing sunglasses khaki cargo pants, a black jacket and carrying a black knapsack.
The second male was darker skinned, shorter in height and wearing a navy – colored sweater.

Thefts from vehicles
Gift cards, a phone, a wallet and CD’s were reported stolen from four different vehicles overnight on Bishop Court and Carnaby Crescent.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
