Theft of laptop from downtown business results in arrest
On the morning of December 5, 2016, a Carden St. business reported to police that a male entered the business and stole a computer. Police were called and given a description of the male and a suspect quickly became known to police.
Later that evening the male responsible for the theft was being investigated by police for an unrelated matter and was arrested.
A 29 year-old Guelph man is charged with assault, uttering threats, theft and two counts of breach of probation and will appear in bail court today
Break and Enters
On December 5, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Queen St. St residence to investigate a break-in enter that occurred sometime overnight. The unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the laundry and storage area room where property was taken. There was video recording equipment on the premise and police are investigating.

Guelph Police also went to an Irving Cres. home to investigate a break-in that is believed to have occurred sometime overnight. The unknown suspect(s) entered the garage and took a mountain bike. Police are investigating.

Thefts from motor vehicles
Overnight, seven separate thefts from vehicles across the city were reported to police. These types of theft are becoming all too common in the daily news release. This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
