Guelph Police Daily News Release – 05Oct2016

BB guns/safety concern

On October 4, 2016 at 10:37 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of Gordon Street and Kortright Road to investigate a possible gun call. A restaurant drive through employee observed the passenger in a motor vehicle holding a gun. No threats or actions were made with the gun. Police later located the vehicle at the owner’s residence. The weapon was found to be a BB gun.

Police take firearms complaints very seriously due to the threat to public and officer safety and will respond with appropriate resources and tactics. Those who own replica guns need to be aware of the laws and safety concerns surrounding them.

Naked man in pool

On October 4, 2016 at 3:18 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Wilfred Laurier Court home to investigate the report of a naked male swimming in the back yard pool. The male dressed and left the property prior to police arrival but he was located a short distance away. The man was apprehended and taken to Guelph General Hospital for his safety.

Male asleep on patio – arrest

On October 5, 2016 at 12:44 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a restaurant on Stone Road West for the report of a male asleep on their patio. Police located the male, the investigation discovered that he was in breach of two court orders and he was arrested.

A 15-year-old Guelph male has been charged with breach of probation and breach of recognizance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 5, 2016.

Attempt break and enter

On October 4, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Waterloo Avenue residence to investigate an attempt break and enter. Sometime over the last couple days, the culprit(s) attempted to gain entry to the garage via a window but were unsuccessful.
