This press release information is generated in response to a media inquiry for an update on the investigation into the death of Patsy Lewis, 61 years, after the discovery of her body on September 30, 2014.
Update information September 2016
A team of Guelph Police officers has been working on this investigation since September 30, 2014 when Patsy Lewis was located deceased in her residence. The investigative team has been working on this suspicious death investigation, utilizing services from the Guelph Police Service, The Ontario Coroner’s Service, the Ontario Provincial Police Behavioural Science Section, and the Ontario Centre of Forensic Science.
Numerous members of the Guelph Police Service have had involvement with this investigation since September 2014, in areas that have included investigation, scene management, search teams, family liaison and area canvassing. Hundreds of tasks have been completed in relation to the investigation, including statements taken, and people who have been spoken to in some capacity; be they witnesses interviewed, other persons who may have had knowledge of some events, family members, or members of the public canvassed for information by investigators. Search warrants have been obtained through the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph, and were executed at 1541 Gordon Street, as well as other locations, in order to search for/produce evidence that may assist in identifying the individual(s) responsible for the death of Patsy Lewis. During the investigation, numerous exhibits have been seized, documented, and examined by Guelph Police Forensic Identification members, investigators, and the Centre of Forensic Science. None of the information contained in the search warrant applications are being made public in order to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
Investigators believe the death of Patsy Lewis was not accidental, and continue to investigate this as a homicide. To preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation, the cause of death will not be released, nor will any specific details pertaining to the investigation itself.
This continues to be an active investigation to determine the identity of the individual(s) who are responsible for the death of Patsy Lewis, and hold them accountable for their actions. Break and enter
On October 3, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Malvern Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the unlocked garage sometime over the weekend and stole a bike.

Stolen vehicles
On October 3, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports regarding stolen vehicles. A green 2001 Ford Escape, Ontario plate #BMKZ 781 was stolen from Macdonell Street sometime overnight. The second incident reports a silver 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, Ontario plate #BXYK 503 stolen from Gordon Street South Solstice condos on Saturday morning.

Baby formula stolen
On October 3, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Clair Road grocery store to investigate a shoplifting incident that had occurred on October 2 at 8:00 p.m. A female stole $316 worth of baby formula from the store. She is described as white with dark hair wearing glasses, black stretch pants and a black shirt. This is the seventh reported theft of baby formula from south end grocery stores since mid-September.

In the area of Victoria Road/Hadati Road from 1:07 p.m. – 3:05 p.m. – 6 tickets issued.
In the area of Victoria Road/Delta Street (School zone) from 3:24 p.m. – 5:20 p.m. – 8 tickets issued.
