Man camping out at local ATM arrested:
An employee at a local bank contacted police at 7:00 am, on February 28th, 2017 concerned about a male who had set up camp within the bank’s ATM vestibule. When police arrived to speak with the male, he kicked one of the attending officers after the male was asked to leave the premise.
A 27 year old Guelph male of no fixed address was arrested and charged for assaulting police, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of stolen property and failing to leave a premise when directed under the Trespass to Property Act. The male was held in custody and will appear in bail court on March 1st, 2017.
Guelph Police and the Guelph Storm Team up for Special Olympics Toonie Night:
On Friday March 3rd, 2017 the Guelph Police and the Guelph Storm have partnered up to collect money during their annual OHL Special Olympics Night. As fans enter the Sleeman Center they will be welcomed by members of the Guelph Police and local Law Enforcement Agencies who will be asking fans to help support Special Olympics. All money collected will support local and provincial Special Olympians reach their goals and dreams through the power of sport.

Guelph Police Officer facing Police Services Act Charges,
A Guelph Police Service Constable was served a Notice of Hearing pursuant to the Police Services Act alleging one count of misconduct.
The 16 year veteran will appear at a Public Hearing on Thursday March 2nd, 2017 at the CRESC Police Building located at 160 Clair Rd W., Guelph, to answer to the charge. The Notice of Hearing alleges one count of Discreditable Conduct.
Guelph Police Traffic Unit Investigates Two Vehicle Hit and Run:
Guelph Police were called to a Hit & Run motor vehicle collision on February 28th, 2017 at 9:25 p.m., the collision occurred on College Ave E, at East Ring Rd., Guelph. A vehicle that was travelling on College Ave, was making a lane change when a Black Honda CRV tried to overtake the turning vehicle, by passing the vehicle on its left side. The two vehicles collided, the driver of the Honda sped away and was last seen by witnesses travelling east on College Av, towards Victoria Rd. The Honda will have damage to its front bumper.
