- On April 9, 2015 at 10:36 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Brant Avenue apartment to assist with the removal of a male. Police were escorting the man from the residence when he struck an officer in the face and attempted to run back into the apartment. Police arrested the man without further incident. The officer did not need medical attention.
Jason Hurd, 39 years of Guelph has been charged with assault police. He was also charged under the Trespass to Property Act with fail to leave premise when directed. He will appear in court on May 26, 2015. 2. Break and enter On April 10, 2015 at 4:30 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Yarmouth Street residence to investigate a break and enter. A female had entered the apartment through an unlocked window. The residents were alerted to the entry by their dog and they found the female in their kitchen. She left the home through the window and ran from the area. Two small plants are reported stolen. Police searched the area but did not locate her. She is described as white, mid-twenties with long blonde hair. She was wearing a beige jacket with a black tank top and tight black pants.
