The Guelph Police Association hosted their 32nd annual Norma Owen Memorial Golf Tournament on September 3, 2014 at the Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club. This tournament is in memory of Constable Norma Owen, who was a member of the Guelph Police Service and succumbed to cancer in 1983. The Norma Owen Memorial Golf Tournament has been a fixture in the community since 1983 and it continues to thrive with the ongoing participation and support of our corporate sponsors, local businesses and many individuals.
The Guelph Police Association continues to support Hospice Wellington with the proceeds of the tournament.
We are thrilled to announce the proceeds of this year’s tournament were $22,000. To date, including 2014’s donation, the Guelph Police Association’s Norma Owen Golf Tournament has donated $301,000 to cancer related charities since the tournament’s inception.
The cheque presentation took place on Monday December 22, 2014 at Hospice Wellington.
