On Monday June 15, 2015 at 10:45 am a southbound Chevy Equinox driven by a 55 year old Waterloo female collided with an eastbound Ford Freeestar van driven by a 70 year old Waterloo female at the intersection of University Ave East at Lexington Road in Waterloo. Both the drivers were taken to area hospitals with undetermined injuries. A Grand River Transit bus shelter was destroyed but luckily it was unoccupied at the time. Area roads were closed for the investigation for six hours while investigators from the Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Branch reconstructed the collision.
