Growing Healthy, Active Kids

The Avon Maitland Regional OPHEA conference (Ontario Physical Health and Education Association) was held yesterday at Stratford Northwestern Secondary School to promote quality daily physical activity for students. Teachers had the opportunity to learn new activities, exchange ideas, and network with one another to better implement physical education within their schools.

The workshops focused on different ways to integrate physical exercise ranging from dance, activities in confined spaces such as hallways, and examining the connections between positive mental health and physical education.

OPHEA strives to promote healthy active lifestyles for all of the students in Perth and Huron Counties as Shelley Blackmore explains in this video.
