Grow Op Bust – MITCHELL and RITCHIE Charged

(BRUCE PENINSULA – SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – On Friday, March 11, 2016, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Bruce Peninsula OPP, and the West Region Emergency Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on Pashwood Drive, Saugeen First Nation, South Bruce Peninsula.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant police revealed an indoor cannabis marihuana grow operation. Police seized cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin, and cocaine during their search. Police seized offence related property that consisted cannabis marihuana grow equipment and trafficking paraphernalia. Also seized was a prohibited weapon. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances was $24,500.00.

Jeremy Mitchell (39 years) and Lindsay Ritchie (34 years) of Saugeen First Nation have been arrested and are each charged with production of marihuana, possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis resin, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
