Gronville VIRGO 130 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On December 12, 2017 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Sideroad 18, Township of Mapleton. The officer observed a male driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h.

40-year-old Gronville VIRGO of Woodstock has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on January 17, 2018. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
