Grain Truck Vs SUV – One Airlifted To Hospital

On September 26, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Waterloo Regional Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bridge Street and Puddicombe Road in Wilmot Township. A loaded grain truck, which was travelling along Puddicombe Road, collided with a Buick SUV, which was travelling west on Bridge Street.

The driver of the Buick, a 63-year-old woman from London, failed to stop at the stop sign and drove into the path of the grain truck. A 62-year-old Dutton woman, who was a passenger in the Buick, was trapped inside the vehicle. Wilmot Firefighters were able to get her out and she was transported to London Health Sciences Centre by air ambulance with serious injuries. The intersection was closed for several hours while members of the Traffic Branch investigated. The driver of the Buick has been charged with Careless Driving.
