(NORTH HURON, ON) – A 53 year old driver from Huron-Kinloss is facing an Over 80 charge following a traffic stop on November 23, 2014. Shortly after 3:00 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a GMC Sierra pickup that was travelling on Currie Line.
Upon speaking with the driver police noted the male had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and subsequently transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 53 year old Gordon FRITZ from Huron-Kinloss has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham on January 22, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
