(Innisfil, ON) On Wednesday, August 10, 2016, around 2:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police were called to Sunnybrae Public School in Stroud, after a playground altercation. Officers learned that a group of kids were at the playground when they were involved in a verbal confrontation with some older teens. A second pair of teens, overhearing the exchange, stepped in to defend the younger kids.
The intervening youths were struck by a skateboard and a pop bottle during the fight. A 15 year old male youth has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous. A 17 year old male teen has been charged with Assault with a Weapon. Both were released to a September court date and must avoid the victims. Neither victim required medical attention.
