Dispute Leads to Nose Bite
On June 29, 2013, shortly after midnight, a male party attended a residence situated in the 200 block of 4th Street ‘A’ East Owen Sound, Ontario in an attempt to settle an outstanding financial debt with another male party. During the course of the discussion the visiting victim was attacked by the suspect who resided at the apartment. During the altercation the visiting male had his nasal area lacerated as the suspect bite his facial area during the struggle. The visiting male managed to break free but the suspect then grabbed a kitchen knife which was used in an attempt to stab the victim. A neighbouring tenant came to the aid of the victim and the Owen Sound Police Services were called to the scene along with emergency medical services.
Police arrived on scene and attempted to apprehend the suspect who ended up threatening them with death by stating that he would later attend to shoot the officers in the head during court proceedings. During the arrest of the suspect the male spit several times upon Police as well as attempting to urinate upon the officers.
Sgt. Rusk of the Owen Sound Police Services stated that that although the victim was treated and released for lacerations to his nose from the biting action of the suspect it was very fortunate that the victim did not suffer any wounds as a result of use of the knife.”
Police state that the two males are acquaintances and that this was not a random attack.
