Good Samaritan Helps Police Get Another Drunk Driver Off The Road In Owen Sound

On Friday March 17 th , 2017 at approximately 7:45 p.m. the Owen Sound Police Service were alerted by a citizen with vehicle particulars of a possible impaired driver heading to Owen Sound from Port Elgin. Approximately 15 minutes later the vehicle was observed by a patrol officer in the downtown core area. A vehicle stop was initiated and the 38 year old, male driver, from Port Elgin displayed the usual signs of impairment. After failing roadside screening device testing the driver was arrested and transported to the Owen Sound Police Service where he provided breath samples which exceeded twice the legal limit. The driver was charged with operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams.
