Goderich Collision Results In Impaired By Drug Charge – Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) – A female driver from Goderich is facing an Impaired Driving charge following a two-vehicle collision that took place in Goderich over the weekend.

At approximately 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 3rd 2019 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a two-vehicle crash that had occurred on Victoria Street South in Goderich.

Subsequent investigation revealed the accused drove into the rear of motor vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign causing significant damage to both vehicles. An officer was able to locate the accused at a residence in Goderich and upon speaking with her it was observed she was displaying signs of impairment through a drug.

She was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment where she was assessed by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE). Upon completion of the DRE evaluation she was deemed to be impaired by a drug.

As a result, Sherry VAN LOO, 53 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Impaired Operation. She has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 25, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. Her licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
