On Monday, January 20, 2014 at 9:52 a.m., police were called to a residence on Aldersbrook Road after a Union Gas employee found that the gas meter to the home had been tampered with, allowing a slow leak of gas.
A neighbour had detected an odour of natural gas while taking his dog for a walk and subsequently contacted Union Gas. It was determined that the meter had been tampered with and that there was a recent small fire at the meter.
Threats had been made toward an occupant of the home on the day prior.
As a result of the investigation, Craig Morris, 26 year of London, has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Utter death threats, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a)
– Utter threats to property, contrary to section 264.1(1)(b)
– Mischief endangering life, contrary to section 430(2)
– Arson – disregard for human life, contrary to section 436(1)
