Just after 6:00 pm on Thursday June 9 th , 2016 the Owen Sound Police responded to a call made by an alert citizen who saw a group of teens attempting to break into the Horse Barn at Victoria Park.
When police arrived, they saw that the group had broken into the barn and were in the process of gathering things to steal. Some of the teens attempted to evade capture by running, but were quickly arrested by the police.
The damage is estimated to be less than one-hundred dollars and all property was recovered.
The five teenagers who were detained cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and are scheduled to appear before the courts to account for their actions for the criminal offence of Break, Enter and Theft.
