Front End Loader VS Car – Two Sent To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On December 14, 2012 at approximately 11:00am County of Wellington OPP officers responded to the report of a front end loader and car collision in the intersection of Wellington Road 10 and Concession 14, in the Township of Mapleton. Firefighters from Mapleton Fire Department and Paramedics from Guelph-Wellington EMS also responded to the scene.

Investigation revealed the John Deere front end loader was travelling east on Concession 14 when it entered the intersection and collided with the Buick automobile, which was travelling southbound on Wellington Road 10. The force of the collision caused the front end loader to tip onto its side. The 80 year old female car driver, and her 84 year old male passenger, both from Durham, were transported by ambulance to the Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest with minor injuries. The male driving the front end loader was assessed by paramedics at the scene.
