(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Thursday, January 7, 2016 at approximately 4:58 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break, enter and theft from a residence on Hwy. 26 (in the former Sydenham Township) in the Municipality of Meaford in which several firearms were stolen.
Sometime between Tuesday, January 5th and Thursday, January 7th, 2016, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence and removed a number of items including a gun vault containing four firearms. The firearms are described as follows:
– Remington 1100 semi-automatic 12 GA shotgun
– Remington 7400 .270 caliber rifle
– Remington Magnum 7mm rifle
– Cooey Bolt Action .22 caliber rifle
In addition to the stolen firearms, a large quantity of moose meat and a flat screen T.V. was taken.
