Waterloo Regional Police have charged a 42 year old Cambridge woman in connection to an investigation into prescription fraud. Police allege that the woman illegaly acquired quantities of hydromorphone and fentanyl patches at several pharmacies within and outside of Waterloo Region over the course of several years. The narcotics were paid for, in part, by Ontario Drug Benefit Programs. As a result of the investigation, police have laid charges of utter forged document, 2 counts of fraud, theft under $5000, possession of stolen property under $5000, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
