Four Unlocked Vehicles Entered In Listowel

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) From Friday morning March 02, 2012 until Sunday evening March 04, 2012, a number of calls pertaining to thefts from motor vehicles were received by OPP officers in Listowel.

On Friday morning it was reported that an IPhone and a pair of Bauer Vapour hockey skates were stolen from an unlocked car that had been parked in a residential driveway on Elizabeth St. W. in Listowel

A vehicle owner attended the North Perth OPP Detachment on Sunday morning reporting the theft of a pair of prescription sunglasses and a pair of regular men’s sun glasses from a van. The unlocked van had been parked in a residential driveway along Barber Ave. N. in Listowel.

A third vehicle owner contacted police on Sunday morning and reported that his unlocked vehicle had been entered while it was parked behind an apartment on Main St. W. in Listowel. A Colby MP3 player with an FM transmitter, two pairs of sunglasses and a Motomaster Eliminator booster pack were removed from this vehicle.

While officers were investigating the theft from the vehicle at the apartment on Main St. W. they discovered that a second vehicle in the parking lot had been entered. Attempts were made to contact the owner but it is unknown if items had been removed from the interior of this vehicle.

The public is reminded to lock their vehicles, park in well lit areas and never leave valuable object or packages in full view (put them in the trunk).
