On June 22, 2015, a 35-year old female was arrested by Barrie Police after she became uncontrollable at a Barrie Women’s Shelter over not receiving the medication she was demanding.
The accused female had forced her way into the staff office and locked a staff member in the room by putting a chair against a door. She then began demanding her medication and refused to let the staff member leave the office while making threats to harm her. Fortunately another staff member was able to call 911 for assistance.
When police arrived on scene they negotiated with the accused female and eventually were able to have her exit the office where she was arrested for Forcible Confinement and Uttering Threats.
Subsequent to her arrest, officers also located a concealed knife in the possession of the accused.
She was transported to the station where she was processed and held for bail on June 23.

Forcible Confinement
Uttering Threats
Carry Concealed Weapon
Fail to Comply with Recognizance X 2
The accused was also wanted by Halifax Police in relation to a stabbing investigation.
