(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Friday October 12, 2012 at 3:28pm, County of Wellington OPP officers responded to a report of a farm accident that occurred on a property on County Road 8, Mapleton Twp.
Firefighters from Mapleton Fire Department and Paramedics from Guelph-Wellington EMS also responded to the scene.
Investigation revealed that the victim, a 38-year-old male from Mapleton Twp and another male were working inside of a grain buggy with an auger, scraping the corn off the interior walls into the auger. The victim slipped and his foot became trapped in the auger, severing it off just above the ankle.
