Flipped Truck Results In Road Closure

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Friday February 08, 2013, shortly before 10:30 a.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer that had flipped in the ditch along Perth Road 135 between Line 52 and Perth Line 55.

Investigation revealed that the driver of the north bound truck lost control of his vehicle on a curve in the road. The truck entered the east ditch where it tipped onto the passenger side. The trailer was loaded with grain but no load spill occurred. No fuel has leaked from the tanks of the tractor unit. The driver of the truck a 56 year old male from Brussels sustained minor injuries as a result of the impact. He was transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries. The Township of Perth East Fire Dept. (Milverton station) is monitoring the removal operation to ensure there is no fuel spill as a vacuum truck removes the grain and the truck and trailer are up righted and removed.

Motorists are reminded to avoid Perth Road 135 between Line 52 (north of Rostock) and Perth Line 55. Barricades have been placed at those locations and the road is closed allowing for the safe removal of the truck. The road is expected to remain closed until later this afternoon.
