(HOWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted an investigation in to illegal firearms at a residence on Fordwich Line, Howick Township. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence and on January 14, 2015, it was executed without issue. The Wellington County Crime Unit and Street Crime Unit (SCU), uniform members from both Wellington County and Huron County, and the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) attended and seized 2 insecure improperly stored rifles, along with approximately 108 grams of suspected marijuana.
Police continued to investigate, and a third male was arrested and charged on January 26, 2015 without issue.
William COLLINGRIDGE age 50 of Dundalk is charged with;
Illegal Transfer of Firearm X 2 –Criminal Code (C.C.)
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – C.C.
He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Bail Court on January 27, 2015.
