On November 3, 2015 at 5:49 a.m., the Guelph Police were on patrol in the Gordon Street area and observed a fire on the Covered Bridge. Guelph Fire was called but officers on scene were able to put out most of the fire using a fire extinguisher. The area was searched for possible suspects with negative results. The damage to the bridge is considered minor but repair will be required.
