On March 31, 2014 the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office began an investigation into the fire on Darren Crescent in Cambridge. The cause of the fire has been deemed inconclusive and further tests are being conducted at the Centre for Forensic Science. The residence has been released to the homeowner. The investigation into the circumstances is continuing.

On 31 March 2014 at approximately 4:15am emergency responders attended a home on Darren Crescent, Cambridge, in response to a reported residential house fire. Upon arrival police evacuated the residence. The fire, which began in an upstairs bedroom, was extinguished before it could spread to the main home. The home had extensive smoke and water damage. Fire damage was limited to one upstairs bedroom. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The family has made arrangements to stay with relatives.
