UPDATE- On July 22, 2014 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded with the Kitchener Fire Department to a large structure fire at a condominium development at Louisa Street and St Leger Street in Kitchener. A number of condominium units were destroyed or sustained damage in the fire. Some of the units were occupied and other were at various stages of construction. No injuries were reported to police. Damage to the buildings and construction equipment is estimated at approximately $4.6 million. Investigators believe that the fire was deliberately set and police are investigating this incident as an act of arson. The investigation is continuing by Waterloo Regional Police detectives and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office.
