Fire

On Sunday morning, the Barrie Police were called to attend 100 Dunlop St. E. in regards to a reported fire in the store. Police attended with Ambulance to assist the Barrie Fire Department. Residents in the apartments above the store were evacuated and sheltered by Barrie Transit. The fire itself was quickly extinguished and actual structural damage was contained to one basement room. Neighbouring businesses did sustain smoke damage. No injuries have been reported. As a result of this incident Dunlop St. E. was closed for three hours. The Barrie Fire Department is investigating the cause.
