(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The OPP is conducting its annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign from November 24, 2012 to January 2, 2013 and is sending motorists a reminder that province-wide R.I.D.E. stops will be highly-visible throughout the holiday season.
The South Bruce OPP is utilizing all available personnel to participate in the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign. 7 charges have been laid during the first week:
November 24, 2012 at 3:32 pm, R.I.D.E. check on Yonge Street North in Walkerton.
Driver charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
November 24, 2012 at 9:50 pm, R.I.D.E. check on Yonge Street North in Walkerton.
18 year old Travis MITCHELL of Carrick Township charged with Possess a controlled substance. 18 year old Devin YOUNG of Carrick Township charged with Person under 19 have liquor.
November 26, 2012 at 8:49 pm, R.I.D.E. check on Durham Street in Kincardine.
Driver charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
November 26, 2012 at 9:14 pm, R.I.D.E. check on Lake Range Drive in Huron Twp.
23 year old Ryan BALLANTYNE of Huron Township charged with Possess a controlled substance.
November 27, 2012 at 10:40 pm, R.I.D.E. check on King Street South in Tiverton.
Driver charged for Expired validation on licence plate.
November 30, 2012 at 1:40 pm, R.I.D.E. check on South Kinloss Ave in Kinloss Twp.
Passenger charged with Fail to wear seatbelt.
