Female Charged With Aggravated Assault

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On February 18, 2018, at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Parkhill.

The investigation, thus far, has revealed that a male and a female were involved in an altercation inside the home. While responding to the initial call for service, officers received information about a male party suffering from injuries from an edge weapon.

The victim, a 27-year-old male was transported to hospital via land ambulance and is receiving treatment for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old female from North Middlesex has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC).

The victim and accused are known to each other. They do not cohabitate the dwelling. There is no concern for public safety.

The Middlesex County OPP Crime Unit and the West Region (WR) OPP Forensic Identification Service (FIS) continue to investigate this event.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in London court on February 19, 2018.
