On January 6, 2014, the Guelph Police concluded an investigation into a series of four shoplifting incidents at LCBO retail stores in Guelph, occurring in May of 2013. With the assistance of York Regional Police, investigators determined that a 22-year-old female from Toronto was responsible. It is alleged that this female has committed widespread thefts at LCBO stores spanning Southern Ontario. She has been charged in relation to similar incidents which have occurred in Toronto, Durham Region, Peel Region, York Region, Halton Region, and Niagara Region by those respective police services.
She has been charged by Guelph Police with four counts of theft under $5,000 and breach of probation. She will appear in bail court on January 7, 2014.
