Fatal Pedestrian Collision

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses after a fatal pedestrian collision in the City Of Markham.

On Friday, November 4, 2016, at approximately 3:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a serious collision involving a pedestrian on Laird Drive. When officers arrived they located an injured 86-year-old woman from the City of Markham, who had been struck by a brown GMC Envoy. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

The female was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to please come forward. This investigation is ongoing.
