Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision East of Palmerston

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Sunday March 20, 2011 shortly after 6:30 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were called to a motor vehicle collision on Line 92 between Perth Road 140 and Road 146.

A West bound sedan with three occupants lost control on Line 92 entered the north ditch, struck a utility pole and came to rest in an upright position in the north ditch.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the sedan, Lyndal Huber (17) of Wellesley was pronounced dead at the scene. The two fifteen year old male passengers in the vehicle were transported to the Palmerston and District Hospital as a precaution. Medical examination confirmed that they did not sustain any injuries.

Line 92 remained closed until 1:00 a.m. Monday March 21, 2011, to allow for the safe removal of the vehicle and assist the Western Region OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Unit to continue their investigation into the cause of the collision.

The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have seen the crash or the green 2002 Ford Taurus sedan prior to the collision as it travelled West bound on Wellington Concession 12 and continued West bound on Line 92, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
