Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver or vehicle following a fatal fail-to-remain collision in the City of Vaughan.
On Monday, August 8, 2016, at approximately 11:25 p.m., a fail-to-remain collision occurred in the area of Highway 7 and Keele Street. A 35-year-old man from the City of Vaughan was found severely injured. Police believe the male was struck by a vehicle. The male has since succumbed to those injuries. The involved vehicle failed to stop at the collision scene.
Investigators are asking anyone that has information, photos or video from the area in the moments leading up to this incident to contact police. Highway 7 was closed for several hours during the investigation. The road has since been re-opened.
The investigation is ongoing.
