Fatal Hit and Run

(South Huron, ON) Shortly after 5:00 am on July 26, 2009 Huron and Lambton OPP officers were called to the scene of an injured pedestrian on Grand Bend Line south of Kirkton Road. The pedestrian was transported to the South Huron Hospital in Exeter where he was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in a fatal hit and run collision.

NOTE: As a result of the collision and investigation, Grand Bend Line from Kirkton Road south to Crediton Road will be closed for most of the day as Technical Collision Investigators and other investigators gather evidence in this crime. Please be aware that this section of roadway is directly in front of the Grand Bend Motorplex. Traffic in and out of the Motorplex will only be possible from the south. No pedestrian traffic will be allowed in the closed portion either so please make alternate arrangements. This closure location may be modified as the investigation progresses.
