Fatal Fall At Elora Gorge

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On Thursday January 4, 2017 at approximately 1:15 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an injured animal call at Wellington Road 7 at the Elora Gorge. Initial reports indicated that a dog had fallen into the gorge and was trapped in the water.

OPP as well as Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue responded however the dog was deceased.

Traffic was delayed at the time but the road is open now.

The OPP would like to remind everyone who is active around the Elora Gorge, the Grand River and other water ways to always obey signs and warnings and to not put yourself, your children or your pets at risk.
