Fatal Crash Near Wroxeter – One Airlifted To London – Brussels Line Closed

(HOWICK, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and members from the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) are currently on scene investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that has occurred south of Wroxeter late this afternoon.

Just after 4:30 p.m. officers from the Huron County OPP Detachment along with Brussels Fire Department members and Huron County EMS responded to the scene of a two vehicle crash located on Brussels Line (County Road #12) between C Line Road and Gough Road.

The initial investigation has determined a Chevrolet HHR wagon was travelling northbound on Brussels Line when it collided head on with a Ford 500 sedan that was travelling southbound.

The lone occupant, driver of the Ford 500 sedan was transported from the scene to a local hospital. Kathleen STECKLEY, 70 years of age from R1 Bluevale was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The lone occupant of the Chevrolet HHR was transported from the scene by air ambulance to hospital in London. 55 year old Nancy SEWERS from Teeswater remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Brussels Line remains closed between Amberley Road & Gough Road.
